Support From Specialists for Your Child

According to recent figures, 1 in 6 kids between the ages of 5 and 16 are likely to experience mental health issues. These difficulties can easily turn into learning obstacles without the proper comprehension and action, leading to additional mental health problems or refusal to pursue an education.

We at Active Learning are dedicated to giving your child the greatest possible educational experience. To ensure that you, your child, and your family are supported as much as possible throughout your journey with us, our staff members regularly undergo training on a variety of topics related to mental health, SEND, and wellbeing.

We take pride in providing students with a variety of wellbeing support alternatives that will not only help them succeed academically but also teach them what success really means to them.

Our Occupational Therapy services

Our Occupational Therapy services cover a wide range of support, including:

  • Activities of Daily Living: From feeding to dressing and self-help skills, we're here to assist with the essentials of daily life.
  • Fine Motor Skills: We help pupils develop essential skills like writing and cutting.
  • Seating Solutions: We provide guidance on chairs and cushions to ensure comfort and functionality.
  • Manual Handling: Our expertise in manual handling ensures safety and ease of movement.
  • Sensory Skill Development: We focus on enhancing sensory skills to improve overall functioning.

In addition to our in-house services, we maintain a close partnership with the Occupational Therapy team. They specialize in offering support with specialist seating and equipment to further enhance our pupils' experiences.

Unlock Communication Potential with Speech and Language Therapy

Effective communication is a fundamental skill, and our Speech and Language Therapy services are dedicated to helping each pupil reach their full communication potential. We believe in a Total Communication Approach, which encompasses speech, signing, and the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).

Our Speech and Language Therapists collaborate closely with the Kent Medway Communication and Assistive Technology Service (KM CAT) to provide comprehensive support for pupils who rely on AAC to communicate. This includes using objects, photos, symbols, and sensory cues.

At our school, we're committed to empowering our pupils and supporting their unique needs through Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Join us in fostering independence and effective communication for every student.

Individual counselling

One-to-One Counselling

It might be challenging to communicate our feelings to people who know us the best at times. It can make a huge difference to be able to speak honestly with someone who is impartial, collected, and empathetic, especially when tension and anxiety levels are at an all-time high. For students who require a little extra assistance or direction, we provide a specialised school counselling service.

Details for the provision Counselling Service

Only our enrolled students have access to our counselling sessions. Sessions may be reserved in groups of four, with the opportunity to reserve an extra group of two sessions if needed. Every session lasts for 50 minutes.

During the initial, free consultation call, you can describe any difficulties your kid is having and voice any worries or issues you think the counsellor should be aware of.
