Unlock Your Potential with Active Learning

Why Consider Seeing a Private Educational Psychologist?

Every school has access to an Educational Psychologist who can assess and support children facing challenges with learning or behavior in the classroom. If you have concerns about your child, it’s always a good idea to first consult with your school to understand what support they can offer and the expected timeframe for action.

However, accessing school-based Educational Psychology services can sometimes involve long waiting periods. To avoid delays, many families choose to seek a private Educational Psychologist for a more immediate assessment and tailored support.

Early intervention is crucial when addressing learning difficulties. The sooner your child receives the right support, the more effective the outcomes will be. Additionally, if you’re applying for an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), an Educational Psychology report is often an essential requirement.

A private Educational Psychologist can provide timely, comprehensive assessments and recommendations to ensure your child receives the support they need without unnecessary delays.

Why Choose Active Learning ?

You might consider seeking the support of an Educational Psychologist if:

  • You are concerned about your child’s progress at school.
  • Your child is feeling anxious about learning.
  • Despite receiving additional support, your child’s academic progress remains below age-related expectations.
  • Your child has specific difficulties with literacy or numeracy.
  • Your child experiences challenges with language and communication.
  • Attention and concentration issues are affecting your child’s learning.
  • Your child struggles to retain and recall information.
  • You want to explore whether your child may show signs of a specific learning difficulty, such as Dyslexia or Dyscalculia.

Please note: An Educational Psychologist cannot provide formal diagnoses for conditions like ADHD or Autism. While their assessments can indicate the presence of these conditions, a formal diagnosis requires a separate and specialized evaluation.
