At Active Learning, we are devoted to providing the best experience possible for our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We strive to collaborate closely with families to collect data and specialized analyses so that reasonable modifications may be made for those students with SEND. We understand that learning online can remove a few of the issues commonly encountered in conventional schools. As partners, we will do our utmost to diminish any remaining issues.
At our institution, we are dedicated to providing all pupils with 'Quality First Teaching' (QFT). Through inclusive teaching and planning, we are committed to ensuring that the needs of each pupil are met in order for them to reach their highest potential. We believe that by setting high expectations for all students, including those with special educational needs, this will not only motivate learners but also guarantee good progress and development. As such, we strive to provide engaging and stimulating classroom interactions between teachers and pupils, as these have been proven to be fundamental in providing the best possible teaching experience.
At our provisionl, we have pupils with a variety of needs and/or challenges. If you would like to explore the support available for your child, please do reach out to us for a conversation. Additionally, there are several national resources in the UK and abroad that may be able to provide you with assessments, information, and assistance.
We maintain a central record for each student that provides their teachers with pertinent information and recommended support strategies. If we receive necessary documentation and information in a timely fashion before your child's enrollment, then we can inform staff members prior to the student's initial attendance date.
Our goal is to provide Quality First Teaching (QFT) in all lessons. Additionally, there is Reading and Writing Support readily available at the KS3 level and an in-class support program at the KS2 level. We also offer Social Skills and individual support lessons as options. If you are thinking about accessing these extra lessons, please speak to a member of our Inclusion Team.
Having a thorough understanding of the challenges that your child faces is essential for us to be able to provide the necessary support. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate any diagnostic letters or specialist reports that you may have. Additionally, if you are open to sharing other relevant information about your child's needs, it would be extremely valuable. If there is additional information required, we will contact you.
We believe in offering reasonable adjustments for children and young people with SEND, and look at each individual situation carefully so that families and colleagues can agree on the best option for them. After enrolling, we will continue to work closely with you to ensure that the needs of your child are met on an ongoing basis.
